A summary of what the summary speaker essentially has to say. Whip speeches are the figurative cherry on top of every debate, a good chance to wake up the judge, praising the speeches given by the first speakers in closing teams. In short: Summarizing the main arguments during the debate, and claiming your partner’s speech was the best speech given during the debate. Should be easy, shouldn’t it?
But with every seemingly easy tasks, whip speeches demand a bit of strategy, and jumping over unexpected hurdles.
This Thursday evening, 28th November 2019, at 7.30 pm, in Hörsaal XVIIb of the Hauptgebäude of the University of Cologne, your workshop coach Helena Hecke will lead you through all the hurdles, and mistakes you can do holding but also how to master whip speeches.
